Author Guidelines

The Journal of Culture and Tourism (JCT) welcomes the submission of original manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the fields of culture, tourism, hospitality, and related interdisciplinary studies. Authors are required to follow the guidelines below when preparing and submitting manuscripts.


1. Types of Manuscripts

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles
    Reports of empirical research findings related to culture, tourism, and hospitality.

  • Conceptual Papers
    Articles that develop theoretical perspectives, frameworks, or conceptual discussions.

  • Literature Review Articles
    Critical reviews and syntheses of previous studies relevant to the journal's scope.

2. Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts must meet the following requirements:

  • The manuscript must be written in English.

  • The manuscript must be original and not previously published or under consideration by another journal.

  • The manuscript should be prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

  • The manuscript length should be 5,000–8,000 words, including references.

  • Use Times New Roman, 12 pt, with 1.5 line spacing.

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides.

  • Pages must be numbered consecutively.

3. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should be arranged in the following order:

Title

  • Concise and informative.

  • Maximum 15 words.

Author Information

  • Full name of each author

  • Institutional affiliation

  • Email address

  • ORCID ID (recommended)

Abstract

  • 150–250 words.

  • Clearly summarize the research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

Keywords

  • Provide 3–5 keywords that represent the main topics of the article.

Introduction

  • Background of the study

  • Research problem

  • Research objectives

  • Significance of the study

Literature Review

  • Relevant theories and previous research.

Research Method

  • Research design

  • Data collection methods

  • Data analysis techniques.

Results and Discussion

  • Present the findings clearly.

  • Interpret and discuss the findings with relevant theories or previous studies.

Conclusion

  • Summarize the key findings.

  • Provide implications and recommendations for future research.

References

  • References must follow APA Style (7th Edition).

  • Ensure all cited works appear in the reference list.

4. Citation and Reference Style

The journal uses APA Style (7th Edition) for in-text citations and references.

Example:

Journal Article

Smith, J. A., & Brown, L. (2020). Cultural tourism development in rural communities. Tourism Studies, 15(2), 120–135.

Book

Richards, G. (2018). Cultural tourism: A review of recent research and trends. Routledge.

5. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be clearly numbered.

  • Each table and figure must include a title and source.

  • Figures should be provided in high resolution.

6. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the Online Journal System (OJS) of the journal.

Submission steps include:

  1. Author registration in the journal system.

  2. Uploading the manuscript file.

  3. Completing metadata (title, abstract, keywords, author information).

  4. Uploading supplementary files if necessary.

7. Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Culture and Tourism (JCT) will be checked using plagiarism detection software.

The similarity index must be below 20%.

Manuscripts with a high similarity index may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected.

8. Review Process

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process involving at least two reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

9. Article Processing Charges (APC)

Currently, the journal does not charge any submission or publication fees.
(If applicable, this policy may change in the future.)

10. Ethical Considerations

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original.

  • The manuscript is free from plagiarism.

  • All authors have made significant contributions to the research.

  • The manuscript is not under review in another journal.
